Lets Stick Together

Lets Stick Together By, Melissa Alvarez I recently met up for lunch with a mother of four who is not only my client, but has become a dear friend of mine. As we ate our lunch, Mrs. X brought up her frustrations about a number of recent developments that have occurred in her personal life. I was sad to see her so flustered, so I asked her to take her time to tell me what was really going on. As she began explaining, I quickly realized what she has been the victim of: oh no, its The Jealous Girlfriend syndrome. If youve never met a girl who has this, youre a lucky lady. Unfortuntately, most of us have, and it sucks. Mrs. X continued her story, and as she did I kept thinking, Really? I mean come on. Mrs. X is the nicest, most professional and polished women/mother I know! Oh yea, thats probably it. Because while she has it together, others just cant seem to be happy for her. See, I love Mrs. X. She inspires me to be a better person. Do I want her lifestyle someday? Absolutely! Shes my role model and I love her for it. I hate to say it, but women (and men) can be such jealous little creatures. And for what? Arent we all in this together? Arent we all trying to be successful in our lives, and in our marriages? This is to all the Mrs. Xs and to all the secure women out there who love their lives. Be consistent and continue to love yourself and those around you. It cant, and wont, hurt you in the end. The others will just continue to be inconsistent as they fall deeper into their insecurities OR they can grow up and get over themselves and find a way to be better and more supportive friends. At the end of the day, we are in this together whether we like it or not.
